An International Centre of Excellence
Our global commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient buildings
On 3 November 2021, during COP26, BE-ST joined the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's network of International Centres of Excellence for High-Performance Buildings.
This is part a global commitment to the sustainable and energy efficient development of buildings in an initiative.
Under this programme BE-ST provides education, training and other resources to support local industries to move forward in line with the UN Framework Guidelines for Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings.
The framework largely focuses on three goals
Reducing energy consumed by buildings
-
Increasing the carbon stored in buildings
-
Greater use of building materials and systems that are low in embodied carbon
