International Retrofit Conference

Continuing the theme of the BE-ST Fest Summit, this day will bring together the UK and international retrofit community to collectively move beyond talk and towards tangible learning, decision making and action to make retrofit and transformational change happen around the globe.

We are each part of the collective response to retrofit. An interconnected web of ideas, networks and initiatives exists, but these need to be brought together in a multitude of creative ways as no one size fits all. The International Retrofit Summit is the place to make these connections.

Some 80% of existing building stock that exists today will exist in 2045. This means 29 million homes, more than 32,000 schools, 1200+ hospitals, and 7.35 billion square feet of commercial property.   

Retrofit affects everyone in the built environment. These solutions – whether it be materials, processes, design, skills, or culture – have a much wider impact on transforming the way we create our entire built environment, existing buildings or not.

BE-ST Fest '24 is on the move.

Our Innovation Campus is undergoing a retrofit of our Accelerator Lab. Due to this, we have decided to find a new home for BE-ST Fest 2024 to allow the work to continue at pace.

This year our two-day conference will be held at Paisley Town Hall, which has recently been transformed into a centre for performing arts. This unique and historic building was renovated as part of Renfrewshire Council’s wider regeneration programme to keep this 19th century building at the heart of the town for generations to come
