Dr Linzi Shearer
Head of Technical Learning & Development, Opencast
Linzi is a learning professional specialising in developing and delivering learning strategies, designing impactful and innovative learning experiences and resources, and establishing the skills and learning ecosystems required to deliver a strong culture of continuous learning within corporate environments. Her L&D experience has exclusively been focussed on supporting the Built Environment sector with addressing well-evidenced skills gaps and shortages, supporting businesses with attracting and retaining the best talent and improving business performance, while mitigating risks and quality issues. Prior to working in the learning and skills arena, Linzi was a sustainability specialist, working to bridge the gap between academia and industry to apply insights from psychology and behavioural science to change individual pro-environmental behaviours. Linzi is passionate about combining her expertise to support the UK transition to Net Zero by contributing in any way she can to conversations and action around ensuring that there is a robust skills pipeline in place to address the scale of the challenges ahead.
Linzi is a Fellow of the Learning & Performance Institute and the Scottish Institute for Innovation and Knowledge Exchange, and is an Independent Trustee at Esteem Training, an Employee-Owned Scottish construction training business.
