Accelerate to Zero Postgraduate Scholarship
Take control of your future and shape our world
Tomorrow's built environment is one of the most exciting places to consider a career in.
We are funding Scottish Masters and Post Graduate candidates who can help solve climate change, create smarter, healthier places and develop a workforce and culture that supports the new future.
Scottish Master’s and Postgraduate students from any course or discipline can apply – whether you’re studying marketing, cyber security, engineering, architecture, or anything in between. If your research will relate to sustainability, innovation, or the built environment, we want to hear from you.
About the fund
We are funding Scottish Masters and Post Graduate candidates who can help solve climate change, create smarter, healthier places and develop a workforce and culture that supports the new future.
Scottish Master’s and Postgraduate students from any course or discipline can apply – whether you’re studying marketing, cyber security, engineering, architecture, or anything in between. If your research will relate to sustainability, innovation, or the built environment, we want to hear from you.
There are up to 50 places with £7,009 funding available for each eligible Full Time Equivalent Masters. Part-time students can also apply.
Apply online here. For master's students starting in September, apply by 31st October. For the January intake, apply by 14th February. We recommend that you submit as early as possible to ensure that you secure a place.
- Be a Scottish student enrolled or applying for a Postgraduate within a Scottish University.
- Be from any course but have an interest in focusing on an innovative, sustainable or built environment solution for your dissertation topic.
- Have an innovative idea for a research project that can be applied directly with industry.
- Work with an industry partner throughout your Postgraduate. You can have a partner already secured but you don’t have to - we can help with that.
You can either apply for your grant with an industry partner already in mind.
Or rather than finding an industry partner, we can provide you with research topics from our housing manufacturing, retrofit, stakeholder engagement teams.
Depending on your chosen field, this can be anything from direct applied research within an industry partner’s business, mentoring, or simply a presentation and discussion of findings.
Any kind of organisation can be considered an industry partner, from local authorities to private sector companies.
The funding can only be used for fees. It will be paid direct to your university. You must be a Scottish student eligible for Scottish funding. If your fees are more than £7,009 the university must agree to waive the fee. You must work with an industry partner throughout your Postgraduate and your research should be made available to them. You are required to complete a final case study on completion of your course and which may be published on BE-ST channels.
